This work by García de Marina has been chosen from among the more than 500 received from 37 countries and states brought together in the V International Postal Art Exhibition in Avilés, which closed on Friday the 15th at the Valdecarzana Palace. With it, the first stamp in the world dedicated to this artistic discipline will be published, the 'Mail Art' or 'Art by Mail'.
As pointed out by the Avilés City Council, the selected work reflects the planet earth protected with a gas mask, as a metaphor that shows environmental pollution in the world. It will be put into circulation in the sixth edition of Postal Art in Avilés that will take place during this year 2021.
The selected postal work will be adapted to the characteristics of a stamp, planned with a face value of 1.50 euros -tariff for shipments to Europe-, with a landscape body of 40.9 x 28.8 millimeters printed in offset and with a print run of 180,000 units, to be issued on April 13.
