The Town of Brezno Announces
XXVIII International Cartoon Humour and Satire Competition – BOMBUROVA ŠABĽA 2025 (Bombura Sword)
Competition Guidelines:
Works can be created in black and white or colour, using any technique, on A4-sized paper.
Each participant can submit up to 5 works.
Theme for 2025: UNIVERSE
Each submission must be labeled on the back with the following details: title of the work, author’s full name, age, occupation, phone number, and email address.
Competition Categories:
Category 1: Up to 15 years of age
Category 2: Over 15 years of age
Submission Deadline:
All entries must be postmarked by April 24, 2025.
Awards:
📌 Up to 15 years of age: 🥇 1st Place: Material Prize
🥈 2nd Place: Material Prize
🥉 3rd Place: Material Prize
📌 Over 15 years of age: 🥇 1st Place: €500 🥈 2nd Place: €300 🥉 3rd Place: €100
If a winner is unable to attend the prize-giving ceremony, all associated deposit fees will be deducted from their winnings.
The jury reserves the right not to award certain prizes or to grant Honorable Mentions instead.
Exhibition and Award Ceremony:
The best works will be displayed in a special exhibition as part of the “Days of Brezno 2025” event.
Opening Ceremony & Award Presentation: May 29, 2025, at Synagogue, Štúrova 11, Brezno.
Important Notes:
Submitted works will not be returned.
Organizers reserve the right to publish and promote all submitted works.
