Taravat Niki is one of rarely women who is an editorial/ political cartoonist, but we cannot overlook her works entered in festivals.

One of the cartoon that caught my eyes in “Palestine Is NOT Alone” contest’s gallery was the work by Taravat Niki “to break the Corona chain”.

I found it wonderful in terms of creativity, she intellectually used the paper puppet man, which is mainly used in cartoons to show solidarity and unity.

She inspired by the night atmosphere to show the corona virus swinging as a very romantic event and thus make the cartoon something pleasant. In the second frame, we see a zoomed-in view of the paper puppet man connected through their hands, and this frame given that idea that the virus spreads through shaking hand, in third frame we find that if shaking hand does not happen, the virus will be defeated.
