Theme: Women’s Empowerment,Caricature of Samira Moussa, Huda Shaarawi, May Ziadeh, and Nazik Al-Malaika
Participation in the forum requires original and new artworks that have not been previously entered in other competitions.
A declaration asserting that the work is the artist’s intellectual creation is necessary, and the organizing committee reserves the right to promote the participating artists’ works through posters, magazines, newspapers, and online platforms both within and outside of Egypt, with the aim of promoting the event.
The competition comprises two categories:
Cartoon and Portrait.
The Cartoon category revolves around enhancing women’s rights awareness and empowerment, displaying messages of empowerment through artistic expressions, and highlighting women’s roles and achievements in various fields.
The Portrait category involves creating portraits of prominent female figures in human history, including Samira Moussa, Huda Shaarawi, May Ziadeh, and Nazik Al-Malaika.
It’s worth noting that the prizes for the Cartoon and Portrait competitions include certificates of recognition from His Eminence Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, with monetary rewards as follows:
First place – $1000,
Second place – $750,
Third place – $500, in addition to three valuable encouragement awards, each valued at $250. All winners will also receive the distinguished Al-Azhar Shield.
The Second International Al-Azhar Forum for Caricature and Portrait Competition for the year 2023 Under the slogan “Women’s Empowerment”
Competition terms:
The maximum participant can submit two acts, two in each Section of the competition.
The size of the work is not less than A3 and not exceeding The working size is 2 MB.
An electronic certificate of participation is sent to each Artists whose work has been accepted.
A compressed folder will be created with the name of the artist and the participating category, containing the following:
The works are in (JPG – 300 dpi) and (pdf format) and the artist’s name, nationality and country are written on the submitted work.
A CV in a “Word” file that includes: name, address, national number or passport number, nationality, methods of contacting him on the phone and WhatsApp, a link to his work published on social media pages, a statement of the competitions he has previously participated in, and specifying the type of drawing, method and tools used. in drawing the picture.
A double-sided copy of the card for Egyptians, and a copy of the passport for foreigners.
The file will be sent to the e-mail before the deadline for submission.
Contest Sections:
First: the caricature competition section
The competition revolves around promoting women’s rights culture and empowerment, reviewing women’s empowerment decisions and embodying them with artistic messages, and addressing women’s role and achievements in various fields.
Second: Portrait competition section (non-caricature)
It revolves around drawing a portrait of one of the prominent female figures in human history:
