The Espai d'Art Plaça Major of the Center Gent Jove de Aldaia will host the exhibition "50 years doing Harca" until April 14, 2021 at the Plaza Mayor Art Space of the Young People Center. An anthological sample that compiles drawings published by Juli Sanchis Aguado (Harca) in newspapers and magazines between 1968 and 2017, as well as in international competitions, where he has drawings awarded all over the world. The exhibition, curated by Vicent Ros with texts by Francesc Martínez, is also available in a voluminous catalog edited by Pentagraf Impresores in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.
Harca has published more than 3,000 drawings in more than 30 national and international newspapers, magazines and competitions.
The exhibition is divided into five parts, one for each decade of the comedian's activity. The first section is entitled "The years that we live dangerously (1968-1977)" and includes the movements and political and social changes that go from May 68 to the end of the Franco dictatorship. The chapter "Democracy and autonomy at the stroke of shocks (1978-1987)" delves into the years of the Transition and the achievement of Valencian autonomy. Likewise, in the sections "The years of socialist hegemony (1988-1997)" and "From Fraga in Maó, passing through Zaplana (1998-2007)", Harca analyzes the consolidation of contradictions in the political sphere. And in the last chapter, "The Revolution of the Rich (2008-2017)," he puts his finger on the sore of the economic crisis and the current liberal democracy caused by the great crisis of 2008.
