House of  Ziraldo is hosting an exhibition of caricatures in honor of Agnaldo Timóteo. According to organizer Élcio Danilo Russo Amorim, Edra, with the death of the singer from Caratingu, which occurred on April 3, 2021, he decided that Caratinga needed to pay homage to him again. from Brazil and abroad to pay homage to him through caricatures. With the limitations of covid, of the pandemic, we first did it, virtually, on the Blog of the Salon de Humor de Caratinga”. On October 16, the date when Agnaldo would turn 85, in partnership with the City Hall, Edra opened the exhibition, in person at Ziraldo House of Culture, which runs until October 22, from 9 am to 11 am and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.    

    For Edra, Agnaldo Timóteo is one of the illustrious people of Caratingu who most deserves the admiration, affection and homage of his land. “We do this posthumous tribute with a lot of tranquility and lightness, since we already paid tribute to him at the inauguration of the Ziraldo House of Culture itself, at the Caratinga International Humor Salon, when he was the main theme. We even have these cartoons in the collection and it has now been added with the invitation and participation of new artists. And also, participating in the Movement Friends of Caratinga, which unveiled his statue at Praça Getúlio Vargas, right in the heart of the city”.

    According to the cartoonist, it is important that Agnaldo Timóteo remains in the memory of the people of Caratinga. “In addition to the success, projecting the city's name to wherever he went, his shows, television programs, showing his affection and love for this land, he has always exalted our city and has always been a great pride for us fellow countrymen. We cannot now let this fall by the wayside, we have to keep his image alive in our hearts, since he is eternal through his beautiful voice, which has always brought us joy. And that joy and happiness that we have been trying to bring with this exhibition. Caricature, it's humor, joy, relaxation, controversy, opinion. It's all about the way Agnaldo has always shown himself to be, sincere, true, always a very nice, accessible and humble person”. Edra also thanked the participation of the cartoonists who contributed to the exhibition. “Every time I call the cartoonists, they are always ready to do their work with the greatest care. This exhibition brings together 60 caricatures from practically all federations in the country and abroad”.
