Biography
Gilmar, a renowned Brazilian cartoonist, has captivated audiences with his witty and thought-provoking illustrations. His work has been featured in numerous newspapers, magazines, and books, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the Brazilian comics scene.
Gilmar has authored ten comic strip/comics books, three of which have been recognized for their cultural significance and adopted by the government for distribution in public libraries. His most recent work, "Entre Quatro Contos", has garnered critical acclaim and further cemented his reputation.
In recognition of his exceptional talent and contributions to the world of cartoons, Gilmar was awarded the prestigious HQ MIX award for best Brazilian cartoonist. His work has been published in major Brazilian publications such as Folha de S.Paulo, Diário de S.Paulo, and Jornal do Brasil, as well as international outlets like Jornal Vida Econômica de Portugal. He has collaborated with renowned publishers including FTD, Paulinas, Senac, Moderna, Abril, and Globo.
