A few lines to commemorate the fact that tomorrow, October 24th, Ziraldo Alves Pinto, a multifaceted Brazilian artist, turns 90!
Ziraldo is the most outstanding comedian and caricaturist in his country. Ziraldo was part of the emblematic weekly Pasquim, published between 1969 and 1991, spokesperson for Brazilian social indignation
and repressed by the military dictatorship. Ziraldo created characters
like Mineirinho Comiquieto, Jeremias, A Supermãe, Turma do Pererê and Menino Maluquinho who showed the courage
of humor and comics in the culture of Brazil!
The cartoonist EDRA, who has already paid tribute to Ziraldo, now announces that the 17th Mostra de Caratinga, to be held in November, will be dedicated to him.
