Your biography in 3 lines

I am passionate about the art of drawing, who dreamed of living life drawing and in 2007 discovered he could make people smile and think being a cartoonist.

What was your first satirical cartoon?

Unfortunately I have not filed any cartoon that has created in childhood or adolescence, so consider as being primarily those created in 2007.

When did you start your professional working?

In 2007, when I returned to participate in graphic humor competitions.

What was your first published artwork?

It was an illustration for a small newspaper published in a nearby town mine. It was exciting because it was still a teenager.

What was your first prize?

It was a winning prize in the 9th International Exhibition of Caratinga Humor in Brazil in 2007 in the category cartoon.

What was your last prize?

It was an Honorable Mention in the International Yemen Cartoon & Caricature Contest, in the cartoon category, in Iran in June 2015.

How do you find new ideas?

My ideas can come anytime and anywhere. Being connected in what happens in the world and your back can help.

Whats your idea about Inevitable Similarities?

This question of the similarities is really inevitable, as several cartoonists from different places can have the same idea about a particular subject. Unfortunately juries of competitions of humor are not prepared to discern what is similarity and what is not.

What do you think about plagiarism?

It is an immoral and unethical. It is a great disregard for other people's work.

Do you think who is the best Iranian Cartoonist?

The Iran has many great cartoonists, with a lot of talent and creativity, but I think it is best Kambiz Derambakhsh.

Who is the best Cartoonist in your country?

In Brazil there are also great cartoonists such as Ziraldo, Dalcio Machado, among others, but now consider how best to Jota A.

Do you think who is the best foreign cartoonist?

In my opinion the best cartoonist is Quino.

What's the best cartoon that you've ever seen?

The best cartoon I've ever seen was a great master Ziraldo, where several heroes are in a asylum.

How much time do you pay for creating an artwork?

This question of time can vary slightly as it will depend on the idea to be developed and the type of work to be done.

What are your tools and technique for creating artwork?

My tools are paper for watercolor, a mechanical pencil 0.9, rubber, ink pens and watercolor. My technique is simply India ink and watercolor.

Which software do you use?

I use only digital equipment and exclusively to scan my cartoons. My work is totally manual and handmade. I like to feel the texture of the paper, the natural colors and the smell of paint.

What's your recommendation to your colleagues?

Work hard. Draw every day. Always learn a little more every day. Respect the work of others. Do your work with pleasure and joy.

What do you think about cartoon situation in the world?

It could be better, but I think that is good, for there is space for everyone publicize their work. The internet and social networks greatly facilitate exchanges between artists from around the world. The negative points sound the issue of print media that each day yield less space for the cartoonists and the fact that many competitions of humor are ceasing to be held for lack of incentive.

Did you ever had problems with your cartoons?

Never had any problems with my cartoons, thank God. Not that I remember. I hope I never have trouble!

What was your best cartoon?

I believe I created many cartoons over the last eight years of which taste great but could not decide which I like best. I think it would be very difficult to define this.

Have you ever created an immediate Cartoon?

I believe so, but I can not say for sure when it was and what was this cartoon.

Yes. I worked in some international juries evaluating the cartoons online form. I was also member of the jury of the 5th International Patio Brazil Environmental Humor Show – Ecocartoon.

What about Caricature?

I confess that I do not consider myself a caricaturist. Sometimes I create some caricatures, but not much dominate this area of graphic humor. Rarely some are good, like the one recently received an Honorable Mention in Iran.

Have you ever worked in cooperation with another artist?

Recently I created an illustration for a story of a friend. He plans to publish a book of illustrated tales and invited several cartoonists to illustrate their stories.

What's your idea about Irancartoon website?

It is certainly one of the best sites in the world graphic humor. It is dynamic, complete and is a great source of information for the cartoonists.

If you were born again what did you choose as your career?

I became a cartoonist and decide to do what I like with pleasure and joy was certainly one of my best decisions. I want to continue creating my cartoons as God allows me and always with joy and pleasure.

Do you think whats the boarder between Cartoon and Caricature?

I do not think so. Both are together, go hand in hand and complement each other. Each segment has its value and its beauty, but none of them should overshadow the other.

What and when was your last exhibition?

Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to have a solo exhibition. God willing I will still have this opportunity.

What's your description about cartoon?

I love creating cartoons. The cartoon has the ability to make you laugh, get emotional and also think. The cartoon must be objective and clear. The cartoon is a tool of joy.

Do you think an artist can have enough money by creating cartoon and caricature?

Many cartoonists already earn much money with cartoons and caricatures, combining talent, creativity and opportunity. Perhaps many others could also gain if besides the talent and creativity they already have, they were also granted the opportunity.

Who's your favorite artist except in cartoon world?

I admire many great artists, most notably Pablo Picasso.

What was the last book you've read?

The “Man in the Ceiling”, Jules Feiffer. A fantastic book about a boy who wanted to be a great cartoonist.

I believe so, combining talent, creativity, persistence and love for what he does.
