Malgorzata Lazarek was born in 1960 in Poland. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Faculty of Graphics in Katowice. She is the holder of Diploma in the studio of Professor Tomasz Jura — drawing and film, and Professor Jacek Rykala — painting. The Academy awarded her the medal for the whole work, and she became the prize-winner of the main prize at ALL — Polish Biennale of Student's Drawing. After graduation, she worked as a teacher of drawing and painting at the Secondary School of Art. She is currently working as a freelance artist and focuses on graphic design, painting, illustration and cartooning. Malgorzata Lazarek belongs to a not very numerous group of women concentrated on satirical drawing and co-operated with many newspapers and magazines in Poland. She is a frequent prize-winner of the International Exhibition "Satyrykon" in Legnica and many other renowned competitions. Malgorzata Lazarek presented her artworks at individual exhibitions in Poland, Hungary Belgium, Germany and France and participated also in numerous collective exhibitions at home and abroad. She is living and working in Katowice, Poland.
