Born in Tehran 1960, Ali Vazirian is a graduate of painting from the college of fine Arts at Tehran University.

He has created a great variety of works including posters, book and magazine design, signs and logotype etc., and his works have been exhibited and introduced in various galleries and exhibitions.

He has founded two publications in the field of plastic and visual Arts and has made a career as a successful creative director. His first collection of works in graphic design was published in 1990 and the sixth book of his works was printed in 2011.

He is the director and founder of the" International Annual of Typography Poster exhibition, themed Asma-ul Husna" & First Biennial Poster Typography in Tehran (November 2005).

In addition he is active as a film director. He made his debut short movie "Once Again Rain" in 2003 which was screened in the competitive sections of several major international film festivals in U.S.A, Australia, Sao Paulo of Brazil, Lebanon, United Kingdom, Japan, North Ireland and Canada.

This film won prizes as follows: Global Zoom Award (for the film that best promotes international understanding) at Cinema K: Seattle Children's Film Festival, 2007/ The Silver Elephant for Best Short Film, Hyderabad International Film Festival, 2005/ Special Jury Prize, Worldfest (Houston), 2005.

The Golden Butterfly for the Best Movie, International Competition of the18th Children's International Film Festival of Isfahan as well as Honorary Diploma for the Best Short Film Director (2003)."God is Close" Vazirian's debut feature, received the honorary diploma for the best first film director at the 25th Fajr International Film Festival (2007) and won two special prize of "Don Tonino Bello" from the 10 & 11th.  Religion Today Film Festival in Italy(2007 & 2008)."A Span of Heaven" is his second feature film that won many prizes of international festival in the world. In addition he has been as a member jury and Art Director in many festivals and exhibitions.

Also he was one of the international speakers in agideas 2010 design week, one of the largest and most prestigious design festivals in the world. Melbourne, Australia. Vazirian has also been a jury member at many film festivals and Art events.
