At 3 years old, I started to copy my father's drawings, putting my own little twist to them. As I progressed through school I won a few art contests; but after getting into sports in high school, art became just another hobby. Football seemed to be my true passion. But when 4 years of football didn't take me anywhere, I realized I still had art. I ended up getting a scholarship to go to an art college (CCAD).
My life drastically took a big tumble in my third year of college. I got into fights and drugs, which made life really hard and blurry. I dropped out of college, and I couldn't get a job because I had a bad record. You could say this was my rock bottom moment. After fighting with just about everyone and seeing no positives in sight, I found a little break of light and things started to look up. Working under the table, hanging drywall, and breathing in dust particles for crappy wages had come to close the end of a dark, yet important experience. Life took a 180 as a special person pushed me into doing art for Kaman's Art Shoppes.
Not only did I move far away to do it, but I met really awesome, positive people, some whose friendship has lasted for years after. I started with portraits at Cedar Point in Sandusky, then moved on to caricatures, leading me to SeaWorld Orlando. Then I took an awesome opportunity to move out west and work at SeaWorld San Diego. There, I was surounded by amazing art and artists. Now after 6 years of living in San Diego, I know I have found my true passion.
